Pre test advice for operators

VOSA Pre-Test Advice for Operators:

  • Don’t adjust headlamps to the top limit. Any slight change or differences in sight can mean failure. Adjust to the middle of the band and check that left and right are the same. We still see headlamps at test where one is high and the other is low.

  • Do check lamps, markers, washers and wipers before test. Bring spares and tools to replace and check again prior to test. Often, if there's time and you don't hold up productivity, quick and easy adjustments may be made.

  • Don't re-line brakes right before a test. Let them bed-in so you get their best performance at MOT.

  • Go easy with the pressure washer and check things afterwards. Pressurised water can create defects as easily as cleaning them up.

  • If you replace wheels prior to test, re-torque them before presentation for test.
